Hello Hello,

I’ve never had a Credit Card but am looking to get one for use abroad and also to improve my credit rating (I hear that it is good to have one, whether you use it or not?).

To be honest, I’m not fully up to speed on the benefits of having a credit card, and the finer details of how they should be used. Any advice?

Also, any advice on current credit card offers?

Thanks!

Hi Danno,

I actually stumbled across this website looking for a replacement credit card, as i often purchase new credit cards after the end of the 0% percent introductory offer. I find be going from one card to the next you will always take advantage of the 0% offer.

Here you go: Compare Credit Cards

I have actually sign-up for the Virgin Credit Card as it seemed to have a good amount of offers with 0% on purchases for 15 months.

I hear what you’re saying regarding owning a credit cards for those “Well you never know” moments - but I find one of the perks of having a credit card is because of the early 0% interest offer, so you purchase a credit card and not use it for 6 months - then you could completely miss one of the early perks of owning a credit card. If you don’t plan on using it but want some cash for a rainy day - you could arrange a bigger overdraft with your bank for those “emergency purchases”

Every one has a credit card these days. They are necessary for many things including travel reservations, internet shopping, and personal identification just to name a few. It is no wonder though that almost everyehere there is a credit card there is a debt problem close behind. One look at a monthly statement will tell anyone with half a brain that this type of loan is structured for the lenders profit more than it is for the users convenience.
