The newly released Amazon credit, named the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card, is one of among four hundred credit cards available from the company and is available only to Prime customers.
You may be surprised to learn that the new card is an addition to three other branded credit cards of offer from the company. But what makes this one unique?
It seems that two of the cards have limited usage across retailers that use ‘Pay with Amazon’ with the other, which is called the Amazon.com Rewards Visa, available to use at almost any retailer – offering 3 per cent cash back on Amazon.com transactions.
The new card, exclusive to Amazon Prime members, was announced on Wednesday and is an updated version of the Amazon.com Rewards visa – with an offering of 5 per cent cash back with items purchased on Amazon.com.
The new card is in keeping with Amazon’s attempts to continually offer more benefits to customers subscribing to Prime – which is currently available for $99 annually, giving users two free shipping days in that time. Consumers are drawn to the benefits – resulting in the company seeing more and more people take advantage of joining the rewards program.
Current Amazon Rewards Visa cardholders will receive an automatic upgrade to the new Amazon Prime Rewards Visa.
The new card aligns with the Amazon.com Rewards Visa which currently offers customers 2 per cent cash back in fuel stations, restaurants and pharmacies, as well as 1 per cent cash back with every other purchases.
