At last, after a long wait the Apple iPad 2 has finally been released in the UK today with a starting price of only £399, about £30 less than the previous 16GB wifi Ipad.

The Apple iPad 2 has the same models as the iPad 1, and as far as memory capacity goes, it holds the same specifications. The 64Gb wifi 3G version costs only £659. That will leave £40 in the pocket of this year’s iPad buyer. Apple disavowed any claims concerning the launch being postponed. Britain, as well as other 25 countries, will benefit of Ipad’s newest release on Friday. Among those other countries there is Ireland, France, Spain, Germany and Australia. Another launch that will happen in April will let the people of Hong Kong, Korea and Singapore take home Apple’s newest tablet. The CEO of Apple, Steve Jobs stated: “We’re experiencing amazing demand for iPad 2 in the US, and customers around the world have told us they can’t wait to get their hands on it. We appreciate everyone’s patience and we are working hard to build enough iPads for everyone.”

The iPad 2 truly is an engineering marvel. This is a tablet that is relatively the same size as the one from last year, but it holds a more powerful processing unit and both a front and rear facing camera used for video calls. Steve Jobs and the people from Apple took weight very seriously when they designed iPad’s successor. The iPad 2 is slimmer and considerably lighter. Americans have already found this tablet more appealing than its predecessor, and that’s why Apple sold about half a million of them in the first weekend. An analyst from Piper Jaffray, Gene Munster, revealed that 70 percent of buyers weren’t previous iPad buyers or owners.

Steve Jobs sounded very sure of himself when he said: “While competitors are still struggling to catch up with our first iPad, we’ve changed the game again with iPad 2.” The iPad 2 comes with a better everything: style, size, weight, and performance. No wonder people wait in lines to buy one.
