Apple iPhone 8 price set to be over $1,000 (£800)

According to a recent report, Apple’s latest smartphone, the iPhone 8, may cost buyers more than $1,000 (£800).

The new phone is said to come equipped with several unique features never before seen on a smartphone, these include a wrap around glass screen and an edge to edge OLED display. It is possible that the OLED display is the reason for the price. The display costs much more than a regular LED or LCD display and they take more time to manufacture.

It is also rumoured that the smartphone will also come with wireless charging, and higher data storage. The iPhone 7 is priced at $969 which makes the potential pricing of the iPhone 8 believable.

The estimated price will be for the 5.8 inch screen model. Apple will also release a 4.7 inch screen model and a 5.5 inch screen model. There is a possibility that they will be named the iPhone 7s and the iPhone 7s Plus. They will have normal LCD screens and so won’t be as costly as the iPhone 8.

A previous report claimed that the OLED screens would be manufactured by Samsung; they are one of the only companies in the world who have ability and the technology to make them.

The most recent report released by Fast Company has suggested that the iPhone 8 design will be sleek, smooth and sophisticated.”
Since Apple is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the iPhone, sources claim that the features that have been leaked are nowhere near what Apple is intending for the launch of the iPhones 10 year mark.

The smartphone is set for release in March, fans are just going to have to wait and see what Apple delivers. Whatever it is, we are confident that it will be spectacular!
