The much desired Samsung Galaxy S8 is going to be released, but fans shouldn’t hold their breath about the release date!
According to South Korean sources, the new phone is set for release on April 15th. The Smartphone is expected to be launched at an Unpacked Event on that Saturday.
Samsung originally planned on launching the phone at their own event sometime in the month of April, however, for reasons that have not been revealed, they have chosen the Unknown Event for their launch.
Samsung is renowned for unveiling their Galaxy S series at MWC, World Congress or at the tradeshow in Barcelona, Spain. The MWC event is held between February 27 to March 3rd 2017, this is when Galaxy S8 enthusiasts were expecting to witness the launch. If the April 15th date is true, fans are going to have to wait until this date for its release.
If the rumours about the specs on the Galaxy S8 are true, it will be worth the wait. According to reports, the Smartphone has been completely refurbished. It no longer has any physical buttons on the front of the device, customers are going to have to adapt to pressing virtual buttons on screen.
There are expected to be two models, one with a 5.1 inch screen, and the other with a 5.5 inch screen.
One of the main differences is that there will no longer be a separate curved Edge model. Both smart phones will now come with a curved display.
Users are going to able to customize the Galaxy S8 on-screen navigation buttons.
Google has yet to update its mobile software, meaning that Samsung is going to have to take responsibility for adapting the Android operating system.
Samsung are also planning on following in Apples footsteps and eradicating the headphone port.
