There has been a spike in the number of Brits installing Broadband at home, according to new figures from Ofcom, the industry regulator. The latest stats show that in March this year, 70% of UK homes had a broadband connection.
Internet usage has increased too - the average amount of time that people are spending online has risen by 15 minutes in the last five years. This finding highlights the fact that a broadband connection is now seen as a necessity rather than a luxury in most households, as it’s become an important part of every-day life.
The investigation also revealed that sign ups to mobile broadband services have also increased, with one in nine UK households taking it up, although it remains a secondary service.
