Travel Insurance Warnings for World Cup Fans

Published: 16/09/2009 by Comments

Hardcore footy fans are no doubt already thinking about travelling to the finals of the contest, however optimistic that may seem! Marks & Spencer Money is advising fans to get organised when it comes to their travel insurance, so they’re fully covered if they incur a cancellation.

M & S Money offers a travel insurance policy that will cover the holder for up to £6,000 for any unused travel and accommodation that’s down to:

- The holder being summoned for jury service

- The holder being made redundant

- The holder being taken unexpectedly ill

- Leave being withdrawn for holders who work in the Armed Forces or Emergency Services

Head of General Insurance at M&S Money, Steve Price explained that footy fans need to be sensible when it comes to planning trips abroad, despite being caught up in the excitement of following their home team.

“Tickets for the matches will do doubt be hot property, but fans should also think about what they would do if the worst happens. Travel insurance can provide financial support long before you step on the flight, so England fans would be wise to invest in a comprehensive policy now.”

As well as getting covered for incidents that could mean the holder making a claim before they set off on the trip, it’s also important for travellers to get covered for all other eventualities too.
