The popular hosting provider WiredTree based in Chicago has been bought by Liquid Web. The terms of the deal have yet to be announced.
WiredTree was launched in 2006, they provided a range of technology related services to small and medium sized businesses.
Liquid Web has also recently purchased the business unit for Rackspace Cloud Site. In December they hired Chris Lema as their vice president of product innovations, Lema was the former WordPress consultant.
Liquid Web CEO Jim Geiger said: “Our aim is to be able to assist web professionals globally to effectively create hassle free content and commerce. There are some businesses whose sole revenue is generated from the internet and they need the right support in order to ensure that their businesses a success.
Due to their new acquisitions, a letter was sent out to all existing customers to assure them that things were not going to change; they were simply going to get better. This includes a 2017 service upgrade without any changes to their existing price plans.
Geiger continued to say, “WiredTree and Liquid Web have been using a similar platform for years. They also share the same philosophy. Our main focus is to continuously provide secure, reliable and accessible web hosting solutions.”
Geiger says that he wants their customers whether old or new to understand that everything that they do as an organisation is to ensure that their customers are kept satisfied. “We are looking forward to creating a lasting business partnership with WiredTree.”
